HUG Sci-comm is a new column aimed at providing graduate students with the opportunity to showcase their research and share the latest findings with the public and decision-makers. Every two weeks, we will share interesting and accessible research discoveries, bringing the latest advancements in fields like geography, environment, climate, and planning to a wider audience.
Although many doctoral and master’s students contribute to or lead research projects published in top-tier journals and recognized within their fields, they often lack the opportunity to share these findings with a broader audience. Research in disciplines such as geography, environment, climate, planning, and public health is highly applicable and directly related to people's lives, yet the public rarely has direct access to the latest knowledge. This column aims to help people better understand the places they live—why they are improving or deteriorating—and to lay the groundwork for a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
Each edition of HUG Sci-comm will be published on multiple platforms (such as Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, LinkedIn, X, the HUG Future website, etc.). The content will be based on published academic papers, with the HUG Future editorial team assisting authors in crafting suitable topics for effective science communication, making complex research easy to understand. We welcome young scholars from all fields, especially those working in interdisciplinary areas, to share their research, including but not limited to geography, environmental science, urban planning, public health, earth sciences, biology, political science, economics, and public administration.
